Applications
Gyms & fitness clubs:
Ultrasonic BMI scales are often used in gyms for tracking weight loss as part of a fitness routine or exercise programme. The MUW includes built-in BMI calculation that can evaluate a user's weight and in relation to their height for placing on a BMI (body mass) index.
Hospitals, doctors & care homes:
Whilst medical scales require approvals, usually Class II or III as set by the MDD (Medical Devices Directive), in order to be used formally in hospital environments, non-approved medical scales can be used as quick reference tools for taking a patient's measurements. Care homes often use non-approved medical scales such as the MUW or MCW for accurately monitoring the weight of patients with limited mobility.
Sports facilities:
Physical sports such as football, basketball and swimming require competitors to regularly monitor their weight and BMI to ensure they are fit to perform. Column BMI scales can accurately take a sportsperson's weight, height and BMI by simply stepping on the scale base.
